Interactive Math Journal

I have tried to implement a math journal this year with both my third and fourth grade classes. I must say it is a work in progress but this is what I have completed thus far.

Fourth Grade Place Value

My fourth grade class loves anything activity that has to do with manipulatives.....whether its place value blocks, flip books, dice, counters, cards...it doesn't matter. They just seem to take off with it. I always start off with place value with them as well and I love doing cutesy things. I did the following place value pics on my intervention day.

Place Value

We started place value at the beginning of the school year. I always start day one with place value blocks. I started a math interactive journal this year to see how it would work. It is a work in progress. I got alot of my ideas from pinterest, teachers pay teachers, as well as other colleagues.

In my third grade class, I let them choose a four digit number and let them represent it with place value blocks. I also introduce expanded form, and word form. I will eventually get all the pictures and resources posted. Here are a few to start with.
